     Sealed bids will be received for the construction of Lift 1, Cells 10 thru 14, Cook County - Taylor Road - Site No.2, Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, in  the Cook County Administrative Building, until 11:00 AM (Local Time), May 19, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

  The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following:

  The construction of:

Excavation and grading of ± 9.7 Acres of lined landfill, including select backfill, sand leachate collection blanket, #89 stone and #57 stone collection blanket, clay liner subbase, stormwater erosion and sedimentation control measures and appurtenances.  The installation of ± 420,525 SF 60 MIL HDPE geomembrane liner, ± 1215 LF permanent liner anchor trench, ± 940 LF temporary anchor trench; including testing, pipe boots and appurtenances.  The installation of ± 4,121 LF 8" perforated HDPE pipe, ± 475 LF 10" non-perforated HDPE pipe; four (4) HDPE manhole, 50 gpm leachate pump station, 505 LF 3” dual contained HDPE force main, storm drainage piping and appurtenances.

 All work on the Project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed.
